How Much is this Going to Cost Me?
Finding the right handyman/carpenter is like finding the right baby sitter for your child. It takes a lot of trust. You are leaving one of your greatest investments (and its contents) in the hands of a stranger. You are trusting his experience and expertise to remedy an issues that will impact the quality and comfort of your living space. Is he honest? Does he cut corners when no one is looking? Is he going to overcharge me? The angst of dealing with with another person to solve the inevitable problems that come along with home ownership does not have to be such a chore. In fact, it can be a relaxed, steady and informed process that will deliver peace of mind as well as comprehensive solutions to the challenges we will be facing.
When you Contact Precision Trim and Carpentry, we will briefly discuss the scope of the work to be done. This will let us know right away if your issues reside within our areas of expertise. If so, we will schedule a time to come by and put together an operating scope of work (thorough list of projects) to estimate. This estimate will contain a completely transparent system of billing with no hidden fees. Estimates are emailed and can be fully explained. Most handyman jobs are estimated at an hourly rate. This Is helpful in establishing a simple, easy to understand billing structure. It enables us to cost effectively bundle multiple projects. It also allows for add on projects and unknown circumstances that can arise. For instance, a couple of days ago I replaced 10 light fixtures, installed a ceiling fan on a vaulted ceiling and patched damaged drywall surfaces. After this was done the client asked if I could replace some torn window screens as well. She already knew it would cost her another hour or two. So, we were on the same page. I was able to move between projects and multitask. Insuring time efficiency and meeting personal expectations. It was cheaper and less headache for the client to call me than it would have been to call an electrician, call a drywall finisher, call a screen repairman, then wait for them all to show up, and charge substantially more.
Flooring, Trim, and other types of installation services are estimated by footage (square or lineal). These types of installs require every piece to be custom cut to fit your home. The carpenter must focus on the finished look without the rush of a time frame. We keep our clients in mind as we work, and keeping our word is important to us. Pricing projects fairly and beneficially to both the client and the company is a principal concern. Without integrity, we would be a planet of selfish, lost people. Caring for and respecting your neighbors time, money and property is one of the keys to a happy life. It creates peace within our cities, communities, and most importantly our own minds.
